Hello! My name is Griffin Cook, PhD (Phony Degree) and I am a researcher with the Lancaster Improv Players. I’m raising funds to support a critical medical breakthrough that cannot be completed without YOUR financial assistance.
Science has spoken: beyond conventional pharmacology, proven therapies, or crystals favored by certain circles, laughter is the next best medicine (as seen here, and with actual science here). Yet one vital question remains unanswered, impeding progress in the development of effective treatments: what makes people laugh? Without money for additional research, we may never know.
With your support, Lancaster Improv Players will be able to:
Conduct more experiments – provide a wider variety of classes, shows, workshops, and other performances.
Hire qualified professionals – pay teachers for improv classes, coaches for house teams, and guest instructors for workshops.
Obtain a bigger, better research facility – move into a new theater space.
Upgrade essential lab equipment – our old wooden stage chairs are extremely fragile, despite many repeat attempts by performers to stand on them and test their limits.
There are many incredible causes to support during this year’s Extra Give, but here at Lancaster Improv Players, we humbly ask for your generous donations to help us continue our critical research in hopes of a breakthrough discovery.
Your contribution today is a prescription for joy, a booster shot for community, and life support for the ongoing study of healing through laughter. Please give generously, and help us make Lancaster a funnier (and healthier!) place.
