Lancaster Improv Players

Lancaster Improv Players (LIP), founded in 2015, is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to serving Lancaster through laughter. In addition to our home of Lancaster City, we’ve performed in Philadelphia, York, Harrisburg, Reading, State College, Lebanon, PA, Baltimore, MD, and New York City. After LIP became an independent nonprofit organization in 2019, we moved to our tiny black box theater on Prince Street during the pandemic, where we thrived for 6 wonderful years. Now, thanks in part to our participation in ExtraGive over the years, we are lucky enough to be moving into our 4,100 sqft dream venue at 8 W King St. Soon, LIP house teams will be performing both long and short form improv on our stage weekly, crafting an unforgettable experience for the audience once again!

As we start this first chapter in the new space, we are fundraising to continue building the dream improv theater our community and city deserve. Donations made during ExtraGive have allowed us to hire additional staff, offer courses on full scholarship, and bring in teachers and performers from around the country. Your contributions have solidified the foundation of Lancaster's budding improv scene, and will be what allows us to build up LIP's future.

Lancaster Improv Players presents the EXTRAGIVE MINI-FEST for its fourth year in a row, this time at its new downtown location at 8 West King! Join in a 7 hour celebration of all things improv comedy, featuring teams from around the region.

Admission to the festival is FREE to anyone who has contributed to ANY ExtraGive 2026 campaign, not only if you donate to LIP. Just show proof of your donation at the door and gain entrance to the comedy marathon of your dreams!
