Lever Foundation is a Lancaster-based 501(c)(3) working to make food systems more sustainable by advancing plant-based food and animal welfare.

Food systems drive today's biggest challenges. Livestock production generates nearly 15% of global greenhouse gas emissions, accelerates deforestation, and consumes vast amounts of land and water. The shift toward plant-based proteins and less intensive farming practices is essential for a livable future.

Since 2017, we've helped over 250 companies adopt better sourcing policies. In Lancaster, we partner with Webstaurant Store, a major food distributor serving restaurants nationwide, and work with dozens of local establishments to improve their supply chains. Our reach extends globally, with teams across eight Asian countries where demand for sustainable food is rising rapidly.

Through strategic corporate partnerships, we create measurable impact: lower emissions, reduced resource use, and millions of animals removed from intensive confinement. By focusing on food—a powerful lever for change—we're building a more sustainable future from Lancaster to the world.
