Every season, girls arrive to their Girls on the Run teams carrying more than backpacks. They bring worries from school, pressure from peers, and the weight of growing up.

At Girls on the Run, girls find a place where they feel safe, seen, supported, and celebrated. A place where they learn to set boundaries, build friendships, speak up for themselves, and trust the strength they already have inside them. Week by week, you can see the shift as shoulders relax, laughter grows louder, and confidence becomes real.

But for many families, joining this program is only possible because neighbors, partners, and supporters step in to make it accessible.

Our sliding scale model ensures that cost never stands between a girl and her team. While the standard registration fee is $230, families only pay what they can. Some contribute as little as $10 and many participate because financial assistance covers the rest. Girls can even join at no cost at all if that is what their family needs. This past year, Girls on the Run provided $201,171 in financial assistance, ensuring that all participants had full access to the program regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.

Because of the community’s generosity, 1,772 girls were welcomed with open arms this year. No questions asked and no barriers in their way. Just a space where they could show up exactly as they are and grow into who they are becoming.

This ExtraGive, we are working to raise $40,000 to open that same door for 174 more girls next year. That means 174 girls who will find their voice, build friendships that lift them up, and discover confidence that lasts long after the season ends. Your gift does not just fund a program. It gives a girl a place to belong.
