Two Army Vets that found a love of horses

$2,475

$1,000 goal

Both of us are Army Veterans and have been with Lone Oak for a year and a few months. What started as an internship for Michelle, has turned into a family affair.  A city boy from NYC, never did Pete think he would walk a horse, now he will stand in stall with the draft horses and talk with them as if they are best friends.  Then there is Hobbs, our little Frenchie that adores Sammie and she secretly loves him as well.

We have found a family in Lone Oak, just like the brotherhood we found in the Army.  The animals at Lone Oak taught us as much about ourselves as the military did.  They have helped us to overcome things we didn't think were possible in addition to helping with our own mental health.  These gentle giants are the most majestic creatures around and despite their past, show you that there is good out there.

Lone Oak is all volunteer from the top down, and you will see everyone there not afraid to get down and dirty.  They welcome all to come and receive care and will make you feel right at home.  Please consider donating to Lone Oak and these amazing animals in need.
