“From College Trips to Confidence

Hi, my name is Brandon and I’m a proud Advantage Lancaster student. I just turned 16, and being part of this program has made a huge difference in my life. Advantage Lancaster isn’t just an after-school program to me—it’s a place where I’ve grown, built confidence, and found a community that truly supports me.

When I first joined, I didn’t know what to expect. I thought it might just be homework help or activities. But from day one, it felt different. The mentors and staff actually care. They push us to do better, help us see what’s possible, and make learning fun.

My favorite part has been the college trips. Visiting different schools, meeting students, and seeing campus life up close showed me that college is something I can really aim for. Before, it felt far away. Now, it feels like part of my future.

And honestly, I’ve made some of my best friends here. We laugh, support each other, and grow together. Advantage Lancaster is a place where everyone feels like they belong, and that means a lot.

This year during ExtraGive 2025, I’m raising money to help Advantage Lancaster keep creating those experiences for more students like me. Our goal as a program is 700 total donations, and my personal goal is to reach 10 unique donors. Every single gift helps us keep growing and opens doors for more students.

Advantage Lancaster has taught me that being part of a community means giving back and lifting others up. I’m proud to be part of something that’s about more than school—it’s about building confidence, finding purpose, and creating opportunities that last.
