My story with Raven Ridge Wildlife Center:

When and why did you start volunteering at Raven Ridge?

I started volunteering at Raven Ridge one year ago. I wanted to volunteer at Raven Ridge because I am a retired life science/environmental science teacher who loves animals and wants to help make a difference.

What is your favorite part about volunteering at Raven Ridge?

My favorite part about volunteering at Raven Ridge isn't just one thing. First and foremost, Tracie's unending dedication, determination, care, and patience is so inspiring. She puts her whole heart and soul into each animal that comes into the center. She is amazing! Second the entire staff at Raven Ridge is second to none! This staff is fire!!😍

What are your favorite species to work with at the center?

I have enjoyed working with every species that comes to the center. Each species has something unique, amazing, and adaptations that are fascinating!

What have you learned about wildlife since starting at Raven Ridge?

The most important thing I have learned about wildlife is that we as humans need to do a better job at caring for our Earth and animals. Using rodenticides, lead shot, and acting in irresponsible ways are the leading causes to the injuries of the wildlife I see at Raven Ridge.

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your experience?

Being a part of this family has been one of the best and most rewarding experiences of my life! From working a shift at the center, transporting patients to other centers, working a wildlife program, participating in events I couldn't imagine a better use of my time and energy! Please help support this special place! 💜🐦‍⬛🦊🦉🦅🦝
