Hello everyone! My name is Blanton Amspacher; I am part of the Programs Department and Seasonal Educator at Susquehanna National Heritage Area. I help facilitate educational programs for our three beautiful facilities. Those programs include school field trips, River Ranger, Tadpole Time, our many workshops, talks, tours, outreach and much more!

For us to do all of these exciting programs and events it requires funding, and lots of it! That's where you can help! I am asking everyone that can, to donate and help support these and future programs. Many programs we offer are free to the public and rely on generous donations to continue operations. These donations will also help fund new and exciting programs for the future!

As a newer member of the team here at Susquehanna National Heritage Area, I have quickly learned how important these programs are to our local communities, especially our local youth. When leading our most recent monthly Tadpole Time program at Columbia Crossing River Trails Center I got to experience that excitement and enthusiasm first-hand. Our little learners were so excited to see their program friends and to learn about color mixing, prisms and even running rainbow relays outside in our beautiful park. Many of these children are returning community members and many have been attending for multiple years!

Support Susquehanna National Heritage Area through Extra Give.

At Zimmerman Center for Heritage we facilitate school field trips, various river related programs, tours, talks and workshops. We are the launch point for the Chief Uncas and our River Discovery Boat Tours! We are one of the trail heads for the Native Lands Park and Heritage Trail. One of the many beautiful parks in York and Lancaster County.

At Columbia Crossing River Trails Center we help people explore the shoreline and river towns of the Susquehanna, one of the most significant waterways in the world.

At the historic Mifflin Farm, we are preserving the important stop on the Underground Railroad where freedom-seekers were safely ushered to Lancaster County. And we are developing a world-class history center and art museum to help tell this region’s amazing stories.

Our heritage area covers all of Lancaster and York counties and contains an more than 50 natural and cultural sites, as well as abundant outdoor recreational opportunities. These places renew, refresh, and inspire. They connect us to our place in the larger stories of nature, history, and community. Susquehanna National Heritage Area ensures these places and resources remain available to future generations.

As we expand, we increasingly rely on the generous support of people like you. Your donation helps us offer more school field trips, develop innovative educational programs, and enhance our advocacy for the great cultural and natural resources along the river.

Help me reach my goal today. Any gift is appreciated.
