Lafayette Fire Company (Fundraiser: Emily H)

Lafayette firefighters give everything to protect this community, and I’m proud to show up in their corner whenever I can. 

My dad was a firefighter, and he grew up in the neighborhood Lafayette now serves, so supporting this team feels like taking care of the place that took care of us.

I’ve seen how much heart and sacrifice goes into every call, every training night, and every response. When our neighbors need help, this team does not hesitate. They show up.

Last year, ExtraGive funded two full sets of turnout gear for our live-in firefighters. This year, we have three Junior Firefighters graduating from the Fire Academy and becoming Interior Qualified Firefighters, which means they will soon be entering burning buildings to save lives right here at home.

They cannot do that without safe, updated gear.

Each set costs $4,000, and we need three.

I may not wear the gear, but I can help make sure they have it, and I would be honored if you would join me.
