Hope is powerful—but for a child like Silas, facing a critical illness, hope is also practical. A wish experience can lift spirits, fuel strength, and remind an entire family that they’re not facing this journey alone. That’s why I’m fundraising for Make-A-Wish: to turn “someday” into “today” for kids who need a life-changing boost right now. 

Silas’ medical journey is almost one year in and still has a long road ahead, full of exhausting unknowns. Our Wish experience helped our whole family feel loved and refueled.

Make-A-Wish’s mission is simple and bold: Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. That word “together” matters. Every wish takes a community—medical teams, volunteers, donors, sponsors, and people like you—standing behind one child and saying, "You matter"! 

I’ve seen what a wish can do. It gives a child something bright to look forward to. It gives us parents a moment to exhale. It gives siblings special memories in a time that is also very difficult for them. Wishes aren’t “extras.” They’re catalysts—helping kids find courage to keep going, helping families rediscover joy, and reminding all of us what’s possible when we show up for one another.
