This year for ExtraGive, I’m choosing to support The Loft Community Partnership because I see firsthand how deeply food insecurity affects our neighbors—not in abstract statistics, but in the faces of families who walk through our doors each week.

Sometimes weekly, children run up to our volunteers, excited not just about snacks, but about being seen and recognized. I've had conversations with parents who share how fresh milk, produce, and whole foods allow them to stretch their budgets and serve meals that feel like home—not just survival. And I’ve stood beside volunteers who give their time week after week because they believe dignity, belonging, and compassion should be accessible to everyone.

That’s why campaign is “Mooo-ve hearts, feed families. ”It’s a playful nod to the fresh milk and whole foods that are among our most requested items—but it also speaks to something deeper:

When hearts move, families are fed. It takes generosity, community, and shared purpose to keep our pantry shelves stocked and our programs running. Every gift—small or large—helps us provide nourishing food, supportive relationships, and a welcoming space for our neighbors.

As Executive Director, I don’t just support this work professionally—I support it personally. I give because I believe no family should have to choose between groceries and rent. I give because I believe in community care. And I give because I’ve seen what happens when we show up for one another.

This ExtraGive, I invite you to join me. Let’s “Mooo-ve hearts, feed families”—together.
