Why I’m Personally Showing Up for the Y

As CEO, I talk about the YMCA’s mission a lot. The good news is, I don’t have to make any of it up.

I get to see the Y’s impact every day—in the lives of kids who build confidence, families who find support, and older adults who find connection and community. The Y is more than a gym or a program provider. It is a place where people belong, grow, and are reminded they matter.

That’s why I’m raising funds through Give Local York. Not because I think people love being asked for money, but because I know firsthand what those dollars make possible.

Every contribution helps make YMCA programs and services accessible to people who need them most. It helps open doors. It creates opportunity. It strengthens families. It builds a healthier, more connected community.

I’m proud to serve as CEO, but this campaign is not about me. It’s about making sure the Y can continue showing up for everyone who counts on us.
