Kennedy’s Crew

Schreiber has helped Kennedy go from needing us to “translate” her gestures to talking with people she’s just met, who she immediately calls her friends. She can climb the playground ladder and go down the slide without us stepping in. Those things might seem small, but to our family, they’re a big deal.

Kennedy started occupational therapy with a Schreiber therapist when she was just six weeks old. Now Wednesdays and Fridays are our Schreiber days, and she loves them.

She’s also strong-willed and likes to do things on her terms. Her therapists know that and adjust without batting an eye. They help her practice speech sounds while playing Paw Patrol and work on letters she’s proud to show us afterward. In the pool, they even join in her own game of “making a smoothie.”

We’ve always wanted Kennedy to have the tools and confidence to succeed, however her path looks. Schreiber helps her build that confidence and teaches us ways to keep working on her skills at home.
