Lone Oak has changed my personal and professional life in many positive ways. As a co-founder of Lone Oak, I am deeply invested in the mission and values of this organization. I am a social worker and animal lover at heart. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I could do both - helping my community and taking care of rescue animals that need homes.

I believe it is important for our community to have accessible and affordable mental health and wellness services. This is not always possible due to cost or other barriers. When you donate to Lone Oak you can be assured that your donation goes directly to the care of the animals and to continuing our services at an affordable rate! We are 100% volunteer (yes that includes me!) which means your donation does not support any salaries.

Personally, I have gained so much from Lone Oak. First and foremost, the opportunity to regain a sense of purpose in my life has been paramount. The animals have taught me so many valuable life lessons including patience, clear communication, flexibility, and self-care. Each and every animal in our program has a special place in my heart. I have also gained laughter and joy from both the animals and community of Lone Oak as a whole.

When you donate to Lone Oak, you are giving back to your local community. We provide a trauma informed community atmosphere on a 70-acre acre farm. Each year we host over 150 volunteers. We provide various services including individual, couple, family, and group therapeutic sessions. We also provide a number of educational services including professional training, opportunities to learn connection with horses, experiential learning for interns, retreats, and much more! We partner with public and private schools for therapeutic and educational groups K-12. What makes us unique? We build the programming around your needs! We ask what would be most helpful to you!
