UDS Foundation

A nonprofit organization

For 60 years, United Disabilities Services Foundation (UDSF) has been committed to empowering people with disabilities and older adults to live safely and independently in their homes and communities. We have remained a trusted and integral part of Pennsylvania’s human services landscape, consistently enhancing the quality of life for those we serve.

UDSF was founded in 1965 as United Cerebral Palsy of Lancaster County, inspired by the story of a young girl named Anna who was unable to attend a movie with her peers due to inaccessibility. This moment sparked a mission to break down barriers for individuals with disabilities. In 2000, we became United Disabilities Services to reflect our expanded reach and broader range of services.

Today, UDSF offers 15 programs across 54 counties throughout the Commonwealth, serving nearly 15,000 individuals annually. Our services include Custom Wheelchair Seating, Service Dogs, In-Home Personal Care, Home Modifications, the UDS Resource Center, and Service Coordination all focused on promoting independence and self-sufficiency in both home and community settings.

As we continue to grow, our commitment to advocacy, inclusion, and innovation remains strong. We are proud of our legacy and look ahead to expanding our reach, ensuring that older adults and individuals with disabilities have continued access to the critical services they need to live fully and independently.
