$45,000 Goal

The Samaritan Center’s mission begins and ends with people and our community.

Since 1988, the Samaritan Center has been building healthy minds and strong communities by providing mental health care services to children, adults, couples, and families with limited financial resources.

The challenge of accessibility is more critical than ever. With an estimated 1 in 5 adults experiencing mental health challenges and 2 in 5 youth reporting persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness, and many more struggling with anxiety or depression, the ability to afford high-quality care is often the single biggest hurdle.

Your support TODAY ensures that a person's financial resources never dictate their access to healing and hope!

Our Accessible Care

We break down barriers to mental health care through three donor-supported initiatives:

1. The Samaritan Fund: Counseling Subsidies for All

In an ideal world, everyone would have access to a professional counselor when they need one. Unfortunately, the cost of therapy and a shortage of mental health professionals are the two biggest barriers to care. Your gift to the Samaritan Fund helps challenge both of these issues simultaneously.

  • Subsidizing Care: The fund directly helps us offer counseling subsidies that allow individuals and families to afford the quality of care they need. We provide over 14,000 counseling sessions annually, in an effort to remove the economic barrier to healing.
  • Building the Future Workforce: The Center's Training and Residency Program allows us to host and train the next generation of professional therapists. This strategic investment in clinical supervision and professional development is key to increasing the local workforce of qualified, compassionate mental health providers, ensuring more people in the community can access care both today and in the future.

2. The Silent Samaritan Fund: Specialized Support for Women

Women often face unique circumstances — including economic instability, caregiving burdens, and gender-based violence — that create significant obstacles to seeking mental health help. The Silent Samaritan Fund provides a vital, specialized safety net to ensure women can access life-changing care. This dedicated fund supports counseling subsidies specifically for women and their families. Your generosity is already making a tangible difference in 2025.

  • Lives Impacted: So far this year, Silent Samaritans have supported 65 women with access to over 530 counseling sessions.
  • Accessible Care Provided: On average, the funds raised have provided $151 per session, amounting to over $80,000 in critical mental health care made accessible.

3. Child and Adolescent Fund: Early Intervention and School-Based Care

The mental health crisis among our youth is a critical challenge, and the key to addressing it is accessible, integrated care. We believe children and teens should have access to find the help they need. Your support for the Child and Adolescent Fund fuels two life-changing programs.

  • School-Based Counseling: We are actively working to break down the physical and financial barriers to care by expanding on-site counseling services in local elementary, middle, and high schools. This initiative ensures that students can access high-quality mental health support immediately, conveniently, and confidentially, regardless of their family's ability to pay the full fee.
  • TeenHope Program: TeenHope remains a vital component of early intervention. This program provides free, proactive mental health screenings for anxiety, depression, or suicide risk in middle and high school students. By funding this program, you directly enable us to identify at-risk students who are flying below the radar and quickly connect them to accessible resources in their community.
