  • The Lancaster County Food Hub: Meeting Basic Human Needs

For over 78 years, the Lancaster County Food Hub has been the largest provider of free services addressing the basic human needs of food, clothing, and outreach support services in our community.

    Why Your Support Matters

    • Rising Demand: In 2024, we supported 73,000 neighbors. This year, there has already been a 28% increase in families seeking assistance, reflecting the struggles many face with rising food costs, escalating housing prices, and everyday challenges.

    • Impact in 2024:

      • 1.5 million pounds of food distributed, feeding 55,000 neighbors.
      • 17,500 individuals received free clothing, providing dignity and relief for back-to-school needs, seasonal changes, and more.
      • 800 unsheltered individuals supported.
      • 10,000 unhoused services provided.

    Join Us for ExtraGive 2025

Last year, 708 donors helped raise more than $135,000 to sustain our vital programs. With demand projected to rise by 30%, your support is more critical than ever. Under the big red awning at 812 N. Queen Street, we go beyond meeting basic needs.

    • We build trust. We share hope. We create pathways to stability and progress.

Together, we can ensure that no one in Lancaster County faces these challenges alone. Join our mission during ExtraGive 2025 and help us bring hope to thousands of lives.

    What is Under Our Roof?

    • Food Warehouse 7,500 square feet & the largest food distribution site in Lancaster County. Last year, over 1.5 million pounds of free food were distributed to almost 55,000 of our neighbors suffering from food insecurity, and the need continues to rise.
    • Clothing Bank provides free seasonal clothing to anyone in need, reducing the stigma associated with clothing insecurity.
    • Outreach Services & New Outreach Center (opened in 2025) is a hub for homelessness programs providing individuals without shelter with consistent, supportive services in a safe and welcoming environment. Meeting immediate basic human needs such as food, clothing, and hygiene in a trauma-informed environment is also vital for making individuals open to additional assistance. Connections to more in-depth support services are co-located onsite. This strategic expansion reflects our dedication to offering comprehensive services and tackling the changing challenges.
