CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Lancaster and Lebanon Counties recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who are appointed to children in foster care as a result of abuse and neglect. These court-appointed volunteers, acting as a friend of the court, receive intensive training in order to advocate for a child in need and provide judges with the critical information needed to rule in their best interest.
Since 2009, it’s been CASA’s mission to provide a qualified and compassionate court-appointed volunteer advocate to every child who is abused and neglected, to ensure the fundamental human right of having a safe, nurturing, and permanent home is met.
CASA of Lancaster and Lebanon Counties serves 60% of the children in foster care in Lancaster County and 20% in Lebanon County since our reach expanded in 2021. We need your help to be able to advocate for more children to ensure their fundamental human right of having a safe, nurturing, and permanent home is met.
In addition to funds needed to grow and sustain our program, we are also looking for new volunteer advocates! After attending an Information Session, each prospective volunteer must submit and application and participate in an interview. After being accepted into the program, each volunteer completes a 30-hour pre-service training class. For full information about our program and process, please visit www.casalancleb.org/volunteer.
