It all started with hosting a 5k race to raise money to benefit the American Cancer Society. While organizing the event, a spark was ignited among four long-time friends. We realized that we enjoyed working together and we were capable of much more. We started looking for additional ways to serve others in our community.

In February 2022, 4 Girls on a Mission officially became a nonprofit. And since then, we’ve lived up to our name—doing whatever it takes to help our community.

What We Do

We fill fridges with groceries. We provide hygiene products, help with rent, security deposits, and car repairs. We serve hot meals and distribute clothing to those living on the streets of Lancaster.

But we go beyond the conventional:

  • We funded the renovation a broken-down camper so a woman could move out of her car.
  • Our Cancer Patient Assistance Fund paid for the roof repair of a woman undergoing cancer treatment.
  • Our Laundry Love program provides community members with free laundry, hygiene products, clothing, and snacks.

One of our core values is giving without judgment. That’s not always easy—but it’s essential. One story that stays with us is a woman undergoing cancer treatment who asked for groceries and hygiene products. In conversation, we learned her family hadn’t had trash service for a year. The backyard was filled with garbage. The shame, the helplessness—it was overwhelming. We paid the bills and had the trash removed. Because no one should face that kind of burden alone.

Why We Exist

Too many people are just trying to survive—without family, without support, without hope. So, we want 4GM to be that support system. That reminder: YOU ARE NOT ALONE. We do not believe the purpose of life is to claw our way to the top of some mountain whether professionally or financially to sit up there alone patting ourselves on the back. We believe it’s about rising by lifting others. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and success of our fundraising efforts, 4 Girls On A Mission positively impacted 67 households in 2024 with $56,000 in assistance.

And while it might sound cheesy, we stand by our motto:

Despite what the world might suggest, we firmly believe that one small act can change the world.

Together, we can make a difference. Please consider donating today, and let’s face these challenges together.

Sincerely,

Sheri, Jody, Ali, and Cathy
