The Samaritan Center’s mission begins and ends with people and our community.

Since 1988, the Samaritan Center has been building healthy minds and strong communities by providing mental health care services to children, adults, couples, and families with limited financial resources.

We provide outreach services to our community in three primary ways:

  • Counseling subsidies (through the Samaritan Fund)
  • Counseling Subsidies specifically for women (through the Silent Samaritan Fund)
  • TeenHope outreach program (through the Child & Adolescent Fund)

Your support TODAY can make a difference!

You can help your neighbors to heal and thrive.

You can give people hope.

You can change lives, families, and communities.

Counseling Subsidies

In an ideal world, everyone would have access to mental health therapy when needed. But with 1 in 5 adults experiencing mental illness in their lifetime, the need for mental health services is greater than ever with fewer people able to afford services.

Each year, the Samaritan Center provides over 14,000 counseling sessions. And your gift TODAY to the Samaritan Fund will help fund sessions for those unable to afford the full fee for counseling.

And women in particular often experience circumstances that prevent them from getting the help they need. The Silent Samaritan Fund was created to help raise funds to support the needs of women and their children who seek counseling services, but are unable to afford the full fee for counseling.

TeenHope Program

TeenHope is a teen mental health outreach program that screens for anxiety, depression and suicide risk of students in Lancaster County middle and high schools. The program is primarily donor-funded and its goal is to identify at-risk students who are flying below the radar before a crisis situation occurs.

For the 2023-2024 school year, TeenHope screened 1,861 middle and high and middle schools; and from those findings, 606 or 33% of those students presented signs of depression, anxiety, or being at risk for suicide; and 143 or 24% reported thoughts of self-harm or suicide ideation within the last two weeks. Many studies have shown the effectiveness of early intervention in mental health and the role it plays in recovery.  There IS hope!

Your gift today to the Samaritan Center will help our local community get the help they need, when they need it,.

THANK YOU for supporting the Samaritan Center - and helping us foster hope and healing!
