The mission of Operation Scarlet, Inc., Chinese Shar-Pei Rescue of Lancaster, PA, is to improve the lives of abandoned, abused or surrendered Shar-Pei by providing appropriate medical care, rehab those with behavioral issues, and place them in carefully considered loving forever homes. Founded in 1991 in memory of Scarlet, a Shar-Pei in need of a home, Operation Scarlet received its non-profit status in January 1999. Operation Scarlet is a 501(c)3 organization. To date, Operation Scarlet has rescued 1,305 Shar-Pei.
