Nazareth Project (NPI) is a Lancaster-based non-profit organization that supports quality healthcare and excellent nursing education at Nazareth Hospital and School of Nursing in northern Israel. NPI also facilitates exchanges for volunteers with Nazareth Village and SERVE.

Lancaster-based volunteers can serve at Nazareth Hospital, Nazareth School of Nursing, Nazareth Village and SERVE. We offer healthcare professionals and committed volunteers the opportunity to serve in Nazareth while experiencing the history, beauty and vibrancy of modern-day Nazareth. 

Nazareth Hospital is the district general hospital and main trauma center serving Nazareth and the surrounding towns and villages with a total population of more than 220,000. Each year Nazareth Hospital has 70,000 ER patients, 13,000 admissions and 50,000 visitors to outpatient clinics. 

Nazareth Hospital is a private Christian hospital in Israel serving all populations living within its service area. However, as a private entity it receives little funding from the Israeli government for upgrades to the hospital.

Nazareth Academic School of Nursing is expanding to train 40% more nurses and to help meet the severe shortage of nurses in Israel. The school offers BA and BSN degrees and is the only Arabic-language nursing school in Israel. 

SERVE Nazareth connects Christians from around the world to faith-based programs in Jesus' hometown. SERVE volunteers are assigned to Nazareth Hospital, Nazareth Academic School of Nursing, Nazareth Village or other community organizations. SERVE volunteers make a real difference in the lives of the people of Nazareth while learning about northern Israel. 

Periodically, NPI facilitates hikers and bikers from the US to participate in a 40-mile "Jesus Trail" hike or a 220-mile bike ride in Israel.
