Our Impact in Community

Let’s Go 1-2-3 is committed to addressing gaps and barriers observed in youth, families, and community access to the outdoors and environmental programming. Since 2019 we have reached more than 1,500 students and engaged hundreds of community volunteers in support of our mission to alleviate barriers to outdoor experiences. 

Every time we touch the lives of a youth, student, or family we grow and strengthen environmental awareness and share a connection to nature. By working closely with urban schools and community partners we improve access to valuable greenspaces and offer opportunities for all generations especially our youth to be part of the environmental change we seek on school grounds, and in public and private greenspaces. Nature is for everyone. 

Thanks to our board, staff, funders, and partners we are growing and investing in the lives of our youth, families, schools, and communities. Together, you and Let’s Go 1-2-3 will continue to grow a thriving and inclusive community alleviating barriers to outdoor experiences and igniting environmental awareness and stewardship in all generations.

How We Work

We use a 3-step model taking participants from an initial nature-based lesson, moving to an outdoor program, with the third step being a stewardship, conservation, or recreation activity going beyond their learned knowledge. After completing this 3-step model without barriers to the outdoor experiences, participants are challenged to take a "next step" or complete an "action" item that gives back, improves our outdoor spaces, or leads to civic engagement related to an environmental issue.
