Creating a Healthy Community requires something new, something different, and something capable building of upon the lessons of the past.
Here at CHI St. Joseph Children's Health, we feel we have crafted something that can harness the dreams of the future.
Creating a Healthier Community is at the heart of all we do as CHI St. Joseph Children's Health.
Almost 140 years ago, two Members of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia arrived in Lancaster County with little more than two apples and two dollars. Their arrival transformed our community.
The creation of St. Joseph Hospital marked the beginning of an incredible journey to create a healthier and more inclusive Lancaster Community. That journey continues today in the daily work and ministry of CHI St. Joseph Children's Health.
Inspired by our Legacy and the examples of the Sisters, each day CHI St. Joseph Children's Health works to improve the health of children and families in the Lancaster Community.
- We care for children and families struggling to overcome mental and behavioral health challenges.
- We support families and children with individualized services, programs, supports and companionship.
- We educate children and families through our schools that collaboratively explore the limitless potential of every child and family.
Today, our Ministry at CHI St. Joseph Children's Health reaches well beyond the traditional walls of a hospital. We serve children and families throughout the community with an approach to services that is grounded in the spirit of innovation, inspiration, love, and breaking down barriers to care, education and opportunity.
Collaboratively, with members of the community and the families we serve, we work to discover, to create, and to implement strategies, opportunities and moments that unlock the potential of children and families. CHI aims to highlight the possibility in our Community.
Our transformative approach to engaging children and families aims to prevent illness, increase wellness, and inspire residents of our community to dream big and to build the community they imagine.
CHI St. Joseph Children's Health is committed to creating a healthier Lancaster community through our key programs:
- Children's Behavioral Health Services - We provide a unique family-focused approach to children's behavioral health. Our program works with the child and their family to teach the skills and to create the environment necessary for every child to be successful.
- St. John Neumann School for Children & Families - A unique approach to early learning and childcare. St. John Neumann School creates a supportive, engaging and caring environment, designed to nurture the development of children ages 6 weeks through kindergarten as well as their family.
- Mary Francis Bachmann School - Opened in the fall of 2023, the Mary Francis Bachmann School provides students and families a developmentally appropriate grade school and high school education. Designed to be accessible and affordable for every child, the school's academic and extracurricular programs offer each student the opportunity to find their own path through an experiential curriculum designed to meet the intellectual, physical and spiritual needs of both our students and their families.
Together we can do so much more than we could ever do alone. Thank you for your generosity and support!
