When Becky experienced the trauma and loss of a fire five years ago, she didn’t know what would become of the two buildings where she had been the on-site “super,” or the many individuals who lost their housing that day.
But a couple years ago Becky learned about the mission of Chestnut Housing and cheered the progress as Milburn Apartments took shape in place of the fire-damaged buildings. She joined volunteers helping paint, and she shared her story at the grand opening event.
“It was an honor to be a part of those beautiful houses becoming a beautiful thing on that block,” she reflected later. “It was a healing moment!!! I've come full circle!!”
Thanks to Becky, over a hundred volunteers, and innumerable donors like you, Milburn Apartments is providing homes to eight more households—expanding Chestnut Housing’s operations to provide over forty apartments and homes to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in our community.
Your support during this year's ExtraGive ensures the momentum won’t stop there. By donating to Chestnut Housing, you helping us support more residents in 2026.
