Alpha and Omega Community Center

The Alpha & Omega Community Center started in 1991 as the social action arm of Alpha & Omega Church of the Brethren, with the purpose of providing a safe place with open arms to the community.

Over the past 34 years, we have evolved, and today the Center offers a variety of programs to serve our neighbors, with support from churches, foundations, businesses, and individual donors.

The purpose of the Alpha & Omega Community Center is to provide education and social services to empower the Latino community of Lancaster County to become more productive members of the community.

In cooperation with the Community Action Program of Lancaster, our Food Bank distributes food to dozens of families twice each month. Through our Computers for Refugees program, we distribute refurbished laptops to new members of our community. And we offer individualized tutoring to help English learners succeed in work, study, and daily life. Our weekly radio program, "Hablemos en claro," highlights important issues for the Spanish-speaking community. The program airs Mondays at 11:00 a.m. on WLCH FM 91.3. Counseling services are offered by a professional to the latino community. The community center offers space for music lessons and English classes in Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings by a Mennonite-Amish group for immigrants and refugees.

The Center is located at 708 Wabank Street in Lancaster, PA.
