AHEDD

AHEDD is a private, non-profit organization that provides employment services for people with all disability types. We pursue community employment as the preferred means to promote community integration and independence. With a rich history of over 40 years, our commitment and purpose has never changed, it has only strengthened.

We assist individuals with disabilities meet their employment goals, aged as young as 14 all the way into adulthood! Our team of trained Employment Specialists across Pennsylvania guide AHEDD participants through the process that can include:

• Intake & Assessment
• Job Search & Placement
• Coaching & Support
• Advancement & Follow Along

Some of our direct services include: 

• Assessing your interests.
• Individualized career guidance.
• Developing a resume.
• Preparing for an interview.
• Identifying open jobs you are well suited for.
• Communicating accommodation needs.
• Connecting with businesses.
• Talking with your employer about customized employment and on the job training.

We also have trained Work Incentives Planning and Assistance staff who can provide information about work and benefits to people who receive Social Security Disability Insurance or Supplemental Security Income because of a disability. 

We want to help the individuals we work with gain greater independence and becoming contributing members of society. Employment gives so much more than just a paycheck, it gives people a purpose!
