Wildlife In Need Emergency Response of PA (WIN) is an all volunteer, non-profit, statewide organization for capturing injured, sick and orphaned wildlife throughout all counties of PA.

In 2024, WIN responded to more than 5000 calls from the public-nearly 2000 more than in 2023! Without WIN, so many more animals would suffer and die, often due to illnesses or injuries directly related to unnatural causes (e.g., vehicle strikes, lead poisoning, habitat destruction). The number of wildlife helped can continue to grow with your support!

• Your Donation will help WIN purchase more humane traps for the capture of Opossums, Foxes, Raccoons and Skunks.  Humane Traps cost from $50 to $200 each, depending on the size.


• Your Donation will allow WIN to purchase the wide range of nets and other apparatus necessary for the safe capture of  flighted birds, including eagles, owls, geese, ducks, and songbirds.  Small nets with telescoping handles cost around $25, with the price increasing for larger nets with longer handles. Remote-Controlled Bownets are around $350, and Air-Charged NetGuns are $800 and up. These are used for larger waterfowl and raptors (such as geese or eagles) that have injuries in need of treatment, but that can still fly or swim. Waiting until they are too weak to be captured by hand often means they've become too debilitated to be saved.


• Your Donation will help us educate members of the public and attract more volunteers through community outreach and participation in local festivals, conferences and outdoor expos.


• Your Donation would support costs associated with the answering service that routes calls to trained dispatchers, and the app that connects dispatchers to available volunteers.
