Our Mission

The mission of theTurtleRoom is to advance survival of the world's turtles and tortoises through collaborative education, conservation, and research programs.

What We Do

TheTurtleRoom works to learn more about turtles and tortoises, both in the wild and in captivity through research and observation; teaches others about the importance of turtles and tortoises and about their unique characteristics; and implements conservation action in the wild and through captive assurancy colonies.

Why We Do It

Turtles and Tortoises are one of the two most-endangered groups of vertebrates on the planet. Without the passionate efforts of organizations like theTurtleRoom and the support of countless private individuals, many species could go extinct in our lifetime.
