Team Jennifer Cahill Charities (TJCC)
Honoring Women Veterans. Building Awareness. Providing Support.
Our Story
Jennifer Cahill (1974–2022) proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1995–1999. In 2020, she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. During her battle, Jennifer and her family discovered that the burial expense coverage they believed the VA provided was not available. A community fundraising effort helped cover her final expenses, but other women veterans soon shared they faced the same challenge.
From this hardship, Team Jennifer Cahill Charities (TJCC) was born — to ensure no woman veteran faces these struggles alone.
What We Do
Final Expense Education & Planning
Educate women veterans on VA funeral benefits.
Cover gaps in final expenses ($3,000–$8,000 on average).
Preplan and prepay for veterans with terminal cancer, giving peace of mind to them and their families.
MST, Homelessness & Suicide Awareness
1 in 3 women veterans suffer from PTSD due to Military Sexual Trauma (MST).
47% of homeless women veterans are MST-connected.
Women veterans are 92% more likely to attempt suicide than non-veteran women.
TJCC provides peer-to-peer support, resource connections, and partnerships with safe havens for women facing domestic violence or homelessness.
Community & Recognition
Host the annual Women Veterans Recognition/ Appreciation Day Expo on June 12, honoring the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act of 1948.
Pennsylvania recognized June 12 as Women Veterans Day in 2022; the U.S. Senate nationally acknowledged it in 2023.
These efforts raise awareness of women veterans’ service and the unique challenges they face.
Our Mission & Vision
Mission: To support, educate, and advocate for women veterans facing cancer, MST, homelessness, suicide risk, and final expense burdens.
Vision: To be there for all female veterans when they need us.
Why It Matters
Women are the fastest-growing population of veterans.
By 2032, women will represent 40% of all cancer diagnoses among veterans.
Too many women veterans remain unaware of benefits, unsupported in crisis, and unrecognized for their service.
