Our mission and purpose is to bring Christian teaching and encouragement to those within the prison walls. We have chaplains working in the Lancaster County Prison, Youth Intervention Center, and State Prisons. We are here to assist the local church in the ministry of reconciliation to men and women involved with the criminal justice system. We also network with reentry and aftercare programs to aid ex-offenders in their return to society.
Support For Prison Ministries provides chaplaincy services to inmates at Lancaster County Prison and Youth Intervention Center. They also coordinate all clergy visits to the prison. Through SFPM subsidiary, Streams of Life Prison Ministries, we present Bible teaching through speakers and gospel literature in Pennsylvania and bordering state prisons. SFPM provides finances to some affiliate ministries that do aftercare rehabilitation. SFPM also operates as a network and information resource for prison ministries throughout the country.
Support for Prison Ministries mission and purpose is to assist local pastors and prison ministry team workers to gain access into prison. SFPM chaplains bring hope and encouragement to those within the prison walls. Acting as an arm of the local church and empowered by the Spirit of God, we:
Touch lives with Christian love
Present the Gospel in clear and understandable terms
Nurture new believers in faith and discipleship
Facilitate contacts with churches and Christians on the outside
Help develop prison ministry teams in local congregations
Provide training to the local church, community and interested persons
Support for Prison Ministries networks with aftercare ministries to aid ex-offenders in their re-entry into society. We also provide educational programs and training for the local church. Our vision is to assist the local church in the ministry of reconciliation to men and women involved with the criminal justice system.
We are a multi-faceted ministry that provides chaplain services at Lancaster County Prison and Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center.
