St. John's Food Pantry has been
in operation for over 20 years. What began as a small group of volunteers offering small bags of food through our office, has evolved into our most vital and necessary ministry. The outreach has grown to average 70 bags of food per week (or more than 1,200 lbs per week) of healthy, shelf-stable food. We currently offer reusable bags of food supplemented with a food cart and tables of fresh food items donated or procured by our volunteers. This year alone, we have served over 10,000 neighbors.
Our Food Pantry is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and again on Tuesday evenings for during our Immigration Clinic. However, no one is ever turned away if they can't make it during open hours. The Food Pantry offers staples such as cereal, pasta, peanut butter, and canned goods, fresh bread and vegetables when donated, frozen meats, and toiletries! No questions are asked about income and anyone who is hungry is eligible.
Our Food Pantry is made possible through the generous donations of St. John's parishioners, our incredible neighbors, partnering churches, and other organizations, such as the Scouts. The financial cost of operating our Food Pantry has risen from $2,000 a year to now over $35,000 per year. Your generous contributions enable us to continue loving our neighbors who are hungry.
