Who We Are

Setebaid Services, Inc./Camp Setebaid/Harrisburg Diabetic Youth Camp

Since 1978 Setebaid Services® have been providing summer camps for young children and teens with Type 1 Diabetes. Camp Setebaid and Harrisburg Diabetic Youth Camp provide the perfect setting for youngsters to free themselves from the challenges they face every day with Type 1 Diabetes. It is a place where they can rebuild their confidence, learn how to manage their diabetes, gain a sense of independence, and build life-long friendships. Setebaid Services summer camps provide amenities of the best summer camps such as swimming, archery, arts and crafts, boating, ropes courses, and more.

Setebaid Services Type 1 Diabetes camps have been meticulously planned and implemented to meet the organization’s goals for children and teens living with diabetes. Setebaid Services recognizes education and support services are the key to improved health for these individuals. All of Setebaid Services’ programs utilize 100% volunteer staff, including some of the top ranked healthcare professionals in pediatric diabetes care from university teaching hospitals and clinics as well as professional teachers who instruct the children and teens how to manage their diabetes and live healthy lifestyles. It is a life-changing experience for all campers.

What sets it apart from all other camps? Setebaid Services Camps are the only diabetes camps accredited by the Camp Association in Pennsylvania and are in compliance with all position and public policy statements of the American Diabetes Association. Today, we maintain the highest standard in the diabetes community for selecting staff, averaging one physician for every eight campers.

Children living with Type 1 Diabetes struggle every day with the stress of managing their blood sugar.  Research shows summer camps help to reduce their diabetes-related stress and teach them how to manage their diabetes.  The children don’t realize we’ve reduced their diabetes-related stress or taught to them to manage their diabetes; they simply say, “you’ve turned my diabetes around!”  That’s why our name is diabetes spelled backward.  Please be a hero for a child living with diabetes by supporting Setebaid!
