The ReUzit on State, previously known as Ephrata Re-Uzit Stores, Inc., is a nonprofit thrift store located at 1054 State Street, Ephrata PA. ReUzit on State's 20,000 square foot thrift store is a social enterprice where shoppers find gently used clothing, jewelry, furniture, household items, decor, toys and much more at reasonable prices.
Whether a family thrifts out of financial necessity or it is a sustainable living choice, ReUzit on State's goal is to offer a thrifting experience that is pleasant and joyful. Everyone is welcomed in a clean, organized shopping environment that communicates respect and dignity.
The process of receiving, sorting and preparing secondhand donations to be placed in the store doesn't just magically happen. Forty four employees and over 195 volunteers do not take short-cuts. For example:
Each item of clothing is inspected and hung on a hanger. The cost of hangers are $75 per one hundred and they do break!
The cost of a week's supply of color price tags is $132.
The cost of electricity lights, heat and air conditioning and trash removal per day is $257 even though we have energy saving solar panels and geothermal wells.

Your participation provides a reasonably priced secondhand option for our Lancaster County community. In addition net proceeds help provide food assistance, clean water, health care, education and relief supplies that empower local & global neighbors through Mennonite Central Committee - MCC. We also support local service organizations, which actively meet the basic needs of neighbors and seek long-term solutions to poverty in our community.

The mission of Ephrata ReUzit Stores, Inc, a non-profit organization doing business as ReUzit on State is:
To accept and resell quality donated items and provide an affordable, extraordinary thrift shopping experience for our local community. We provide an avenue for donors, customers, volunteers, and employees to reduce waste, shop secondhand, and compassionately work to end poverty with local and global neighbors. Our net proceeds support the work of Mennonite Central Committee which responds to basic human needs of global neighbors and works for peace and justice in the name of Christ. We also support service organizations, which actively meet the basic needs of local neighbors and seek long-term solutions to poverty in our community.
