The LGBT Center of Central PA fosters inclusive communities and holistic well-being for LGBTQ+ people through social, educational, and cultural engagement. As the only LGBTQ+ community center in Dauphin County, the LGBT Center is a critical safe space for LGBTQ+ people to access resources and find community, connection, and support. Established in 2006 and based in Harrisburg, the Center serves over 2,000 people yearly across Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, Lancaster, and Lebanon Counties.
For more than 20 years, the Center has provided refuge, hope, and healing. We've created safe spaces where LGBTQ+ folks can connect, grow, and thrive. And now, more than ever, we need our community to help us keep those doors open.
Here’s what your LGBT Center does every single day:
- When youth need a safe space to be their authentic selves, we provide Common Roads.
- When trans people seek community and support, we offer Passageways.
- When families want to build connection, we create it through Once Upon a Rainbow.
- When our elders need a space to share experiences, joy, and wisdom, we gather them for Aging With Pride.
- When someone is dealing with depression and anxiety, we connect them with an affirming mental health provider.
- When queer and trans people face housing insecurity, we provide emergency and transitional housing. We've housed over 25 people in 2025 alone.
- When someone is hungry, our food bank feeds them — more than 100 individuals each month.
- When Queer and Trans People of Color need a space that centers their voices and healing, we offer GLO Harrisburg, the only program of its kind in Central PA.
These safe, affirming environments and services are essential, and your support makes them possible.
