Friends of Shirati is a Lancaster based 501 (c)3 organization founded in 2005 and supported by over 150 Lancaster County residence to continue supporting the medical work at Shirati Hospital, Tanzania which they started beginning in 1936. The goal is to a supporting partnership with Shirati KMT Hospital, Tanzania is upgrading their medical services, public health outreach and various disability programs.
The mission of Friends of Shirati is to support and partner with Shirati Hospital, Shirati College of Health Sciences, Shirati Leprosy Hostel and the Shirati Community in Tanzania to provide modern medical facilities, sustainable medical services, scholarships for educational opportunities for staff, support for public health programs and village health clinics
