Since 1973, the Elizabethtown Historical Society is committed to keeping alive the diverse, fascinating and inspiring history of Elizabethtown and surrounding communities.  Located in a fully restored schoolhouse and designated a Historic Landmark in Lancaster County, it includes many artifacts, a research library, books, documents and a vast photo library.  We also invite you to join us for our monthly programs (Sept. - Dec. and Mar. - Jun.) to explore local history, businesses and personalities.

Mission

The Elizabethtown Historical Society was established to encourage the study and understanding of the historical heritage of the Elizabethtown area and to gather, compile, and make available historical documents and artifacts related to the region. The organization maintains a schoolhouse museum which houses various historical artifacts and provides tour programs to the general public.
