Founded on the groundbreaking work of American Modern artist Charles Demuth, our collections, exhibitions, and programs at the Demuth Museum of Art cultivate artistic expression and cultural education for all.
Each year, our art museum:
- Welcomes over 10,000 visitors
- Serves over 2,200 people through educational and outreach programs
- Mounts 15+ special exhibitions
- Maintains the largest collection of original Charles Demuth artwork in the world
- Showcases over 600 works by local artists and students
- Offers curriculum and other resources for local educators, reaching hundreds of students

Our museum is always “admission by donation" and most of our programs are free or low cost, providing accessible and meaningful art experiences to thousands. No other local art museum offers this type of community outreach on a continuous basis throughout the year and we're proud to serve Lancaster and beyond.

The Demuth Museum of Art preserves and promotes the groundbreaking work of American Modern artist Charles Demuth; showcases the work of local, national, and international artists to the Lancaster community; and inspires new generations through its programs. The collections, exhibitions, educational programs, and public initiatives of our multiple facilities foster creativity and appreciation of art and artists.
