CHEMOWARRIOR: the eli sidler foundation

A nonprofit organization

Founded in memory of Eli Sidler, the mission of The CHEMOWARRIOR Foundation is to find and fund research for better, less debilitating treatments for Ewing sarcoma, an aggressive and often deadly form of pediatric cancer.  Funding from the government and national cancer organizations for pediatric cancer research is almost nonexistent, so it is up to private foundations like ours to step in and help.  A local all-volunteer organization, we are committed to giving at least 95% of every dollar raised to research, with an emphasis on those projects that are slated to get results within two years or less and also show promise for treating other types of cancer.  We hold the recipients of our funds accountable and issue periodic reports on the status of the projects we fund.  Since our inception in 2014, we have raised over $420,000 and helped to fund several important research projects at MD Anderson, Cleveland Clinic, Dana Farber/Boston Children’s, and most recently, Pittsburgh Children's Hospital. We are currently evaluating other promising research to fund and EVERY DOLLAR RECEIVED will go directly to this critical work to help children with Ewing sarcoma have a better chance to survive.

Who We Are

We are a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to finding and funding better treatments for the pediatric cancer, Ewing sarcoma in memory of our son Eli and the thousands of other kids who have had their lives cut short and suffered while battling this aggressive disease. Every penny we raise goes to much-needed research that depends mostly on private funding to come to fruition.

Mission

The mission of "CHEMOWARRIOR: the eli sidler foundation" is to find and fund better treatments for Ewing sarcoma, an aggressive and often deadly pediatric cancer. Founded in memory of Eli Sidler, the foundation works to support critical research. Current chemotherapy drugs used to treat children are more than 25 years old and and were originally developed for adults. Plus, governmental and major cancer organizations spend very little of their budgets on pediatric cancer. So it is up to organizations like ours to fill the void and provide more hope to children and their families struggling with this devastating disease.
