Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-Central PA

For nearly 45 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of South-Central PA has believed that every child has the ability to succeed and thrive. We create meaningful, monitored one-to-one mentoring relationships between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”) across our 7-county service area, including Lancaster County, which we have proudly served since 2017.

We are honored to have been recognized as Agency of the Year and received the Growth Award, reflecting our commitment to excellence and expanding impact in the community.

Lancaster County Impact (2024–2025)

• 96 youth served

• 100% of high school seniors graduated

• 93% of Littles avoid risky behaviors such as drugs, alcohol, and tobacco

• 85% report doing well in school

Through mentoring, Littles gain confidence, stronger relationships, educational success, and reduced risk of harmful behaviors.

Programs Making a Difference in Lancaster County

• High School Bigs Program: Expanded into School District of Lancaster (SDOL), Donegal, and Columbia Borough School Districts

• High School Bigs Leadership & STEM Futures: Continued in partnership with SDOL

• Bigs in Blue Program: Connecting elementary students with mentors from Columbia Borough, East Hempfield, and West Hempfield Police Departments

• Beyond School Walls: Workforce Development program with Cocalico School District and UGI Utilities
