Bethany Christian Services of Central PA

A nonprofit organization

Bethany Christian Services (Bethany) envisions a world where all children, youth, and families are safe, loved, and connected. Since 1984, Bethany of Central PA has provided programs and services that help children and families thrive. In partnership with community organizations and volunteers, our staff walk alongside families as partners, providing trauma-informed support to help them overcome challenges. Serving over 2,500 individuals annually and adapting to the changing needs of our community, our current programs include:

  • Safe Families for Children™: An evidence-based program that supports at-risk families facing crisis and reduces child abuse/neglect through a network of volunteers motivated by compassion to keep children safe and families together.
  • ReNew: Empowers and equips mothers for successful recovery, from pregnancy through the first year of their child’s life.
  • Renewed Hope: Mirrors ReNew with expanded eligibility to include mothers in recovery with children up to 12 years of age.
  • HOMEBUILDERS®: Provides evidence-based intensive, in-home crisis intervention, counseling, and life-skills education for families who have children at imminent risk of placement in foster care.
  • Foster Care: Provides loving, temporary care with the goal of reuniting children with their biological family.
  • Foster Care Adoption: Prepares and places foster children into permanent families, for those whom reunification is not an option.
  • Post Permanency: Supports foster; formal kinship; permanent legal custodian; and adoptive families through the journey of providing permanence for a child. Services include Case Advocacy; Support Groups; and Respite.
  • Counseling: Specializes in attachment and trauma related issues. Services include traditional counseling, ADOPTS Therapy, Parent Consultation; Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy in partnership with Little Springs Farm.
  • Refugee & Immigrant Services: Provide resettlement and employment services that assist refugees and immigrants in obtaining self-sufficiency and community integration as soon as possible after arrival. Services include Employment Programs and Short-term Immigrant Foster Care.

At Bethany, we are motivated by our faith, support one another, champion justice, pursue excellence, and are in it for the long haul. Together, we can change the world through family. To learn more about our services please visit us at bethany.org/lancaster
