Puppet Improv at LIP

Hi, my name is Kate Nyx, but you can call me Girl President. When I was elected President of the Board of Directors at LIP this July, I knew in my heart of hearts that I wanted one thing above all; to corrupt this improv theater with my seemingly limitless capacity for all things whimsical, weird, and womanly. It is my duty as Girl President of Improv. 

I have been working for the theater as their social media manager since February 2023, and in January 2025, the board made my over-commitment to that role official by agreeing to grant me the title of Communications Director. In that role, I am working for the theater on average 30 hours a month, not counting my volunteer hours on committees and as Girl President. 

All of this to say, in order for me to have time to do the creative projects I want to do at the theater, something’s gotta give.

I simply need $5,000. Legally, money is a form of communication, and by donating to this fundraiser you are saying one of these fours things;

• “I want to see a puppet improv show hosted or coached by Girl President Kate Nyx”

If I reach my goal of $5,000 in funds raised, I will commit to making puppet improv at LIP a reality. With the financial support for my cajones, chutzpah, and audacity, I can bring our wildest puppet improv dreams to life.

The community I’ve found through LIP has changed how I feel about the future. I’m so grateful to use my knowledge as an event producer and lifelong performer to help build up a space where people can find and build true friendships. I believe in the healing power of doing bits with people you love, and I know for a fact we will invest every dollar raised into making a safe and supportive space for as many people as possible to be able to laugh together.
