The YMCA has played an important role in so many lives—including mine. With programs centered on Healthy Living, Youth Development, and Social Responsibility, the Y truly offers something for everyone.
My journey with the Y began when I was a young child, coming in with my grandma for swim lessons with Mr. Doug. That experience sparked not only a lifelong love for the water, but also a passion for swimming that has stayed with me ever since. What started as a simple childhood activity became something much more meaningful.
As I grew older and began thinking about my future, I knew I wanted a career that would allow me to help people stay active and connected. That passion led me to major in Recreation Management in college. During my internships, I found my way back to the YMCA—and instantly felt at home again.
After graduating, I began working at the Y. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to grow within the organization, and today I serve as a Branch Executive, overseeing two branches. It’s incredibly rewarding to now help create the same welcoming, supportive environment that once shaped me.
What makes the YMCA truly special is its commitment to ensuring there is something for everyone—regardless of age, background, or financial situation. The Y works hard to remove barriers so that all individuals and families can access the programs and support they need.
When you make a donation to the YMCA, you are directly supporting your community. Your generosity helps us provide life-changing programs such as cancer survivor wellness initiatives, Veterans Wellness programs, and financial assistance for memberships and youth programs. It also allows us to meet critical needs through services like food pantries and utility assistance.
The Y is more than a place—it’s a community, a support system, and for many of us, a second home.
Thank you for your consideration and for helping us continue to make a difference.
